The village of Poolewe is set amongst some of the
most magnificent scenery in Britain. It is a good
base to get around by car, from the Beinn Eighe
Nature Reserve to the old fishing village of
Ullapool, or by foot with many good walks and
climbs. Several sandy beaches, fishing, golf,
putting and boat trips are all close by. There is a
coffee shop and a hotel (with restaurant &
bar). There is also a local shop and Post Office
(with public telephone), an indoor heated swimming
pool and, not to forget, the famous Inverewe
Gardens with self-service restaurant.
